I did not order citizens to wear masks: Trump

Washington, Ta. Sunday, July 18, 2020

"I have not ordered the wearing of a mask in the United States," said US President Donald Trump. People should have the right to decide whether to wear a mask or not.

Trump said in an interview that wearing a mask is a good thing, but it can't be made mandatory. It is a matter of people's choice. Trump cited previous statements by experts to support his point.

Trump said that at one time the director of the Disease Control Department, Dr. Enruth's Fausy said the mask was not needed. Surgeon Generals said there was no need to wear a mask. Suddenly everyone is saying wear a mask, wear a mask. I don't see any logic in this.

Earlier, the director of the disease control department, Dr. Fawcett said leaders should appeal to people to wear masks. Trump then made the statement. "I don't agree with that," Trump said. I will not order that. Whether or not to wear a mask depends on people's choice. I don't think the government can impose mandatory rules.
