Fake security guards and deputy sheriff's try to unlawfully evict family privateofficer.org

MEMPHIS, Tenn. January 12 2021— A Memphis family says they’re on edge after fake sheriff’s deputies and security guards tried to evict them from their home this week.

The family has lived in their home on Kirkland Avenue for months and the mother told FOX13 she’s still haunted by the moment a number of men showed up with guns threatening her to leave with fake eviction papers.

“This guy has an assault rifle. They don’t have any proper paperwork. Nothing about this is legal,” said community activist Hunter Demster as he recorded video of what was happening.

The man in the video claimed to be a part of L.P.A.C. (Love, Peace, and Communication) Security. According to his former employer, he’s wearing a uniform for an agency he no longer works for.

“When I saw it, I couldn’t believe it. I was shocked. I was stunned. He hasn’t worked for us since December,” said the owner of the company Daniel Jones.

Jones says the men were imitating sheriff deputies in L.P.A.C. uniforms to evict the woman from her home a month after no longer working for the security company.

Not long after the incident, the company stopped by the mother’s home to apologize for the false eviction.

“That what they did yesterday, we don’t have anything to do with what they did. Our company stands for love, peace and communication,” said Jones.

“It just keeps replaying back. It was scary. The most help I need is getting away from him because he scared us. We just want safety for our kids,” said the mother, who wishes to remain anonymous.

Jones says his company doesn’t do evictions. They’re hired as security for venues and businesses. He says families should be extra careful if they’re placed in this predicament.

“She’s shaken up about what happened, and I told her if there’s anything I can do to help her, I will do it,” said Jones.

Friends of the family and those in the community say there’s a fear that this will happen more often to families who may be unaware of its legitimacy.

L.P.A.C. and law enforcement encourage you to contact the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and the County Clerk’s Office if you’re ever placed in this situation.
