FAMU celebrates it's 133rd Birthday as the #1 public HBCU

Today, we celebrate FAM'Us  133rd Founders' Day with a wreath laying at 10:10 a.m on the University Quadrangle.

What is now FAMU was founded on October 3, 1887 with two instructors and 15 students.  Today, the University is a community of scholars with more than 10,000 students from across the USA and representing more than 70 countries from around the globe.  The University offers more than 54 bachelors degrees, 29 masters, three professional degrees and 12 doctoral degrees.

FAMU is ranked by US News and World Report as the 117th best National Public University in the country, the highest ranking of any public HBCU.
