Two FAMU football players, R- sophomore wide receiver Xavier Smith and junior kicker Chris Faddoul , were named 2020 STATS Perform FCS Preseason All-Americans on Wednesday.
Smith led the MEAC in receiving yards (1,159) and receptions (77) last year was named to the 2020 STATS FCS Perform Second-Team, was also selected to the College Football America Yearbook's FCS Preseason Starting Lineup, College Sports Journal Preseason FCS All-American Team and Hero Sports Preseason All-American Second Team. Smith also earned First-Team All-MEAC honors in 2019 and is a 2020 All-MEAC Preseason First-Team selection.
Faddoul, was selected to the 2020 STATS Perform FCS Third-Team, was also named to College Football America Yearbook's FCS Preseason Starting Lineup, College Sports Journal Preseason FCS All-American Team and Hero Sports Preseason All-American First Team, and has been one of the most consistent punters over the past two years in NCAA Division I FCS.
