FAMU computer science program reaccredited through 2026

The FAMU (BS) computer science program has been fully reaccredited with "no concerns or weaknesses" by the Computing Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering Technology (ABET). The accreditation is valid through 2026.

ABET, is the global accreditor of college and university programs in applied and natural science, computing, engineering and engineering technology programs at the associate, bachelor’s and master’s degree levels.

ABET's accreditation ensures a program meets the quality standards to produce graduates prepared to enter a global workforce. ABET's voluntary peer-review process is highly respected because it adds critical value to academic programs in the technical disciplines, where quality, precision, and safety are of the utmost importance.

FAMU's computer science program, created in 1967, has roughly 250 majors.
