Islamabad, Ta. 18 July 2020, Saturday
Pakistan's Imran Khan government has banned the popular mobile game Pubji. The government has also accused the game of being anti-Islamic. The government called the game a health hazard and at the same time called it a bad habit. According to the government, addiction to the sport has a negative impact on the physical and mental health of young people.
Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party may face the wrath of the youth due to the ban on the Pubji game. However, the government's move is being widely praised.
Tehreek-e-Insaf is likely to harm justice in the elections
Like India, the multiplayer mobile game Pubji is very popular among the youth of Pakistan. The ban on the game has led to speculation that young voters will not vote for Imran's party in the next election.
According to a report by the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority, the Pubji game is putting a lot of pressure on the country's youth. These circumstances have also led to an increase in youth suicide cases. So far, three Pakistani youths have committed suicide.
During the hearing in the Islamabad High Court, PTI claimed that some scenes of the Pubji game were anti-Islamic and could not be allowed in Pakistan.
Also banned in 2013
The Pakistani government banned the Call of Duty and the Medal of Honor in 2013. The games were banned by the government on the grounds that Pakistan was portrayed as a terrorist haven. Apart from that, links were also shown to several terrorist organizations, including Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI and Al Qaeda.
An application has also been filed in Pakistan to ban China's popular video app Tiktok. However a religious reason has been given for banning it in Pakistan. According to the petition, anti-Islamic content is being shared on social media through Tiktok.
