The BSP has now jumped into the ongoing political tug of war in Rajasthan.
In Rajasthan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot released an audiotape as evidence alleging that a BJP Union Minister had tried to overthrow the government. The BJP has accused him of illegal phone tapping. Now BSP president Mayawati has also said that Gehlot has committed an illegal act by tapping the phone.
Mayawati said, "Everyone knows that Gehlot had earlier openly violated the anti-party law and for the second time in a row had cheated the BSP and got the party's MLAs involved in the Congress. Now the illegal act of open phone tapping has been committed."
Mayawati further said that in view of the state of political instability in Rajasthan and the ongoing tensions with each other, the Governor should recommend to the President to implement the Presidential rule here immediately.
