Woman Assaults Mall Security Guard After Stealing Clothes privateofficer.org

The female suspect also is accused of assaulting a security guard while leaving with the stolen goods.



GLEN BURNIE, MD March 7 2020— A man and a woman are suspected of stealing more than $1,000 worth of clothes from a Sears store at the Marley Station Mall on the afternoon of Feb. 20. According to the Anne Arundel County Police Department, the female also assaulted a security guard who tried to stop them after they had left the store with the stolen merchandise.
Anyone with information about the two suspects are asked to contact Anne Arundel County Police Detective Coward at 410-222-6135. Depending upon the value of the property stolen, possible shoplifting penalties in Maryland range from a misdemeanor charge with a $500 fine and/or 90 days in jail up to a misdemeanor charge with a $500 fine and/or 18 months in prison.
