Trinidad March 12 2020 A security guard is currently nursing a gunshot injury, after he attempted to prevent a robbery at a beauty salon.
Police were told that just after 4pm on Monday, the officer was on duty at the salon along Charlotte Street, Port of Spain, when a man walked into the business armed with a firearm.
The man announced hold up. However, the guard spring into action and attempted to detain the suspect.
During the struggle, the guard was shot twice in one of his legs. The suspect then fled the scene.
The police and paramedics were notified and the injured officer was rushed to the Port of Spain General Hospital for treatment.
