Police said a man at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital lashed out at two hospital employees as he was being held at the hospital as a precaution after he made threats of suicide or homicide.
Michael S. Johnson, 52, of the 900 block of North Ninth Street was charged with aggravated battery and aggravated assault after police said he punched two security guards at the hospital at 2:18 p.m. on Saturday.
He was restrained and taken into custody.
If convicted of the more serious charge of aggravated battery, Johnson could face up to seven years in prison.
