Narendra Singh Tomar Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Government of India

A letter to the farmer brothers and sisters

Dear farmer brothers and sisters

I have been in constant touch with you for the last few days regarding historical agricultural reforms. Recently I have had a conversation with farmers of many states. Many agricultural organizations have welcomed these agricultural reforms. He is very happy with this. A new hope has arisen among the farmers. Examples of such farmers are also being found continuously from different regions of the country who have also started taking advantage of new agricultural laws.

But the other side of these agricultural reforms is that some farmer organizations have created an illusion about these.

As the Agriculture Minister of the country, it is my duty to clear the confusion of every farmer. Let every farmer worry. It is my responsibility that between the government and the farmers, the conspiracy is being created to build a wall of lies in Delhi and adjoining areas, and keep in front of you the truth and right thing. I come from a family of farmers. Considering both the nuances of farming and the challenges of farming, I have grown up understanding. Waking up late at night to provide water to the field, running to close it when the bugs break while running water. Today the fear of rain, the joy of rain on time. All these have been a part of my life. I have also seen waiting for weeks after harvest to sell it.

In the midst of these situations, the farmer of the country tries to produce the highest food grains for the country. The farmers of India have seen this hard work, this will, even in this crisis of Corona. The farmers helped speed up the country's economy by producing bumpers. During this time, sowing records has ensured more good yields in future. It is a matter of great satisfaction for me as Agriculture Minister that after the new law comes into force, this time all previous records of government government procurement on MSP have been broken. At a time when our government is setting new procurement records on MSP. The number of procurement centers is increasing.

Some people are lying to the farmers that the MSP will be stopped. I urge farmers to recognize this white lie that is being brought by some people motivated by political interest and reject it outright.

The government which gave MSP one and a half times of the cost to the farmers, the government, the government, which brought nearly double the amount of MSP to the farmers' account through the MSC in the last 6 years, the government will never stop the MSP. MSP continues and will continue.

Farmer brothers and sisters

Farmer welfare is one of the most important commitments of his life for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, this government is constantly taking decisions to increase the income of farmers. In order to empower farmers in the last 6 years, every decision has been taken by our government, from seed to market, to make farming easier for farmers, reduce their difficulties and increase profits.

You also know that there are 80% small farmers in our country, whose landholding is 2 acres, such farmers have been doing farming only since independence. These small farmers are getting huge benefits of the steps taken by the government. The motive behind giving ₹ 6000 annually to you through the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi is that, in the difficult times, you can get the cover of crop insurance, which is damaged by natural calamities, to compensate the crop. With the soil health card, farmers are getting to know the health of their land properly. So the neem coating has given huge relief to the farmers by curbing the black marketing of urea fertilizer. The country has also moved ahead with Annadata becoming energy donor.

There has also been a problem of farmers that most of the godowns are cold storage and processing centers near big cities instead of villages. Due to this, farmers do not get full benefit of this. To remove this imbalance, an agricultural infrastructure fund of one lakh crore rupees has now been created.

In the midst of these efforts, we have also seen how some people buy the produce of sweat of the farmer at the cost of a lot of money due to lack of market availability. The farmer of India did not even have the right to decide the price of the crop that would be in his field, he could sell it wherever he wanted.

Everyone knew this compulsion of the farmer, understood that the governments which were there before us also used to advocate to give the farmers an open market with the market. The process of dialogue about this began in the year 2001 under Atal ji's government. After Atal ji, the Congress government was at the center for 10 years and it was also in support of these reforms. She kept writing these reforms in her manifesto. The truth is that no one ever agreed with the old system that tied the farmers.

Today, through this letter, I want to tell that in the last 20-25 years, a farmer should show a single statement of a leader or organization, which has said that farmers should not get other options to sell their produce, which is the system It is better that it is coming, in our country, big farmer organizations were demonstrating for the liberation from these bonds. Agricultural experts have been saying that without these reforms it is difficult to change the life of the farmer of India. When the NDA government was formed in the year 2014, we started discussing these reforms afresh.

Model laws were sent to state governments. Discussions were held in the committees of Chief Ministers. In six months, we took this matter to crores of farmers of the country. Through about 1.5 lakh training and webinar sessions, discussed various matters related to farmers and the provisions of the new agricultural law. After this, these new agricultural laws have come into existence.

Farmer brothers and sisters

The mandis are on and on. APMC is being strengthened more. With this, the open market will also give you the option to sell your produce at a good price at your home. Together, the freight to transport grain from the farm to the mandi will also be saved. Then there is the option of mandi, agricultural produce mandi or it will continue to work as before. In the last 5 years, the government has spent crores of rupees to modernize agricultural mandis. They will be made more modern in the coming time.

People whose political land has been eroded, they are spreading a completely imaginary lie that farmers' land will be taken away. When the agreement between the farmer and the merchant will be of the crop only, then how will the land go away. The new law clearly mentions that the farmer will own the land. The government is providing ownership rights to every family living in the village through their ownership scheme. It will not allow even 1 inch land of farmers to be snatched away.

Our government is committed to the farmer both by intention and policy. Brothers and sisters, the government is making constant efforts to remove whatever confusion is being spread about the MSP market and land capture. We are constantly discussing with farmers and their organizations, and are ready at all times to address their concerns. But it is equally important to understand the vicious cycle created by some political parties and organizations under the guise of farmers.

The country's misfortune is that today some people who consider themselves to be natural intellectuals, are shamelessly speaking the exact opposite of what they said. But nothing is hidden from the public. The country is also seeing his old statements and today his real face is also seeing that, for his political selfishness, he will do harm to the government. But the truth is that you are on their target. We are farmers of the country. There are youth of the country.

These people have tried to make innocent farmers a puppet of politics, which Congress has been suppressing in its government for 8 years by pressing the report of the Swaminathan Committee. How can that Congress be beneficial to farmers, which the Congress says in its manifesto that farmers should get different options to sell produce other than mandi. Now why do you want to see farmers clutched. Why did the agriculture minister of the UPA government write letters in favor of these reforms, why have they taken a U-turn.

The Aam Aadmi Party was writing in its manifesto at the time of Punjab elections that it will allow farmers to sell produce outside the mandi. Why are you now speaking upside down? The HUDA committee had talked about agrarian reforms, the Akali Dal had a big leader in that committee, so why are they speaking in different notes even today. Those farmers organizations who were supporting these reforms till 3 months ago, were congratulating our government, now why are they suddenly protesting.

My peasant brothers and sisters

For decades, politics has been the politics of gathering votes just by announcing. The country is now watching the government, which fulfills them authentically by making an announcement. Seeing the blessings of the people of the country increasing on us, some parties also feel that they will get back their lost politics by spreading the land and confusion among the farmers. It is our responsibility to clear this confusion, so we are constantly trying to resolve the issue with the farmers on every subject, but you also have to be cautious that people who have joined the movement also aim to benefit the farmers. Not at all.

In the last 6 years, you must have seen that a group of people of the same ethics of the same clan, sometimes students, sometimes Dalit society, sometimes women, and sometimes minorities hide behind in different sections, spreading dissatisfaction in society and chaos in the country. Has been trying

Today, these people are repeatedly hiding behind the country's donors and giving a direct and indirect thrust to violence and anarchy for their political selfishness. These people are hiding behind other leaders of the country and are pressurizing them to immediately release the accused of spreading violence. These people hide behind Gandhi's donors and damage Gandhi's statue. Pujya insults Bapu, the same Bapu who started a huge movement of satyagraha for the farmers in Champaran.

In order to ensure that irrigation water does not reach the farmers, these organizations kept pushing for years. Every legal bet was played, these people have been obstructing the work of providing electricity to the farmers and obstructing the construction of dams for years. These people are hypocritical of the interests of farmers today.

When the country is moving forward with the resolve of self-sufficient India, it is becoming local for vocal. So the intentions of these people who proclaim to boycott the products of India have to be recognized. When the security challenges on the border in Leh, Ladakh have increased, when there has been many feet of snow, then these people who stop the trains carrying logistics for the soldiers towards the border cannot be farmers. Because of these people, we have to transport logistics and other important goods to our troops by airways and other means. The public's hard-earned money is being invested in these alternative arrangements.

The ideology of these people hiding behind the scenes and misleading the farmers was not with the country even in the 1962 war. Today these people are speaking only the language of 1962. These people have also tried to pollute and pollute the purity of the minds of the peasants with their vile intentions and intrigues.

Our farmer brothers and sisters today should consider that, when they started this movement, their aim was then and what are the things happening today.

I request you to join hands through this letter, that without thinking of any such misconduct, please meditate on the basis of facts. It is the responsibility of our government to remove all your fears and answer them. We have never withdrawn from this obligation and will never back down.

Following the mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Biswas, our government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji has tried to benefit everyone without discrimination. Witness the history of the past 6 years. Believe you this reforms done in the interest of farmers will form the foundation of a new chapter in Indian agriculture. We will empower the farmers of the country and make them independent. With the energy of these agricultural reforms, we will together make Indian agriculture prosperous and prosper.
