New rules have also come into force with notifications.
Monopoly of power companies will end
Power and New and Renewable Energy Minister RK Singh said - There is a monopoly of power companies across the country. According to information received by World News, customers have no option. In such a situation, to give rights to the customers, new rules and systems were required to implement them. Now the monopoly of power companies (monopoly or arbitrary) will end.
The Ministry of Power issued a draft in September regarding the new electricity rules. The Union Minister said that more than 100 suggestions were received regarding these rules. These suggestions are included in the final rules. Consumers have been taken care of in this.
The compensation will be deposited in the bank account
According to information received by World News, electricity consumers have been given several rights in the new or existing connection, including modification, metering arrangement, billing and payment. If the power companies do not provide the service on time, they will have to pay compensation to the customers. This compensation will be deposited directly into the bank account of the customers. The task of fixing compensation has been entrusted to the Regulatory Commission. Electricity companies will have to supply 24 hours to the customers. However, customers with certain types of connections, including agriculture, will get less supply.
New connection will be available in 7 days in metro city
According to the information received by World News, Power Secretary Sanjeev N Sahai said that under the new rules, it will be the responsibility of the power companies to provide the service according to the demand of the consumer. Companies will have to provide a new connection to Metro Cities in 7 days. This period will be 15 days in municipal areas and 30 days in rural areas.
