Of the plains they are- 1 in Sukuna, 17 in Matigara, 2 in Khoribari, 7 in Naxalbari, and 4 in Phansidewa tested positive. 12 in Alipurduar, 21 in Coochbehar, 71 in Jalpaiguri and 7 in Malda tested positive.
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 8 December 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals in the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:-
3 Death:
Tapas Chakraborty, 70 yr old of Ghosepukur Phansidewa died in RICU ward of NBMCH.
Ajay kr Sarkar, 76 yr old of Purba Vivekanandapalli Siliguri died in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital.
Haksabari Burman, 65 yr old of Kumargram of Alipurduar died in a nursing home at Sevoke Road.
28 in SMC:
28 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (14 in Darjeeling and 14 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive.
50 in Darjeeling district:
Of the 50 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district, 14 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 5 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 1 in Darjeeling Municipality, 1 in Kurseong Municipality, 2 in Mirik, 1 in Sukhiapokhari. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 88 new cases,16294 confirmed cases of which 15269 have recovered and 189 died while 836 are active cases.
18 in Kalimpong:
18 new cases from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 15 new cases, 1943 confirmed cases of which 1809 have recovered, 22 died and 112 are active cases.
7 in Malda:
7 new cases reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 23 new cases, 11853 confirmed cases of which 11361 have recovered and 106 died and 386 are active cases.
12 in Alipurduar:
12 new cases, 19 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 21 new cases, 7392 confirmed cases of which 7213 have recovered and 85 died while 94 are active cases.
21 in Coochbehar:
21 new cases, 32 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 45 new cases, 11041 confirmed cases of which 10491 have recovered, 66 died and 484 are active cases.
71 in Jalpaiguri:
1 death, 71 new cases, 79 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 71 new cases, 13203 confirmed cases of which 140 died while 12255 have recovered and 808 are active cases.
77 Discharged:
After testing negative and recovery 77 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today.
NBMCH
During the last 24 hours 20 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 5 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 9 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 6 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and no patient in Isolation ward -1 are admitted.
1 each of Takdah, Bijanbari and Fagu Gorubathan, Kalimpong–total 3 of GTA area are admitted.
DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital
At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 69 Covid-19 patients are admitted while 19 are in ICU, while during the last 24 hours 6 patients are newly admitted and 1 are released.
At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 2 of Singell TE Kurseong,1 each of Kurseong, Dr. Zakir Hussain Busty, North Point Singmari, Rashik gram Darjeeling, Pandam T.E., and BDO Office Kalimpong, Dalgaon Gorubathan, 29th Mile Kalimpong (10) are admitted.
DESUN Covid Hospital
In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 51 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 5 patients are newly admitted, 2 are released.
1 each of MP Road Darjeeling, Reserve forest Mungpoo, Teesta Valley of GTA area (3) are admitted.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES
The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 326 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 532 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 858.
There are 16 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital and one isolation ward of NBMCH outside GTA area, 28 in GTA area and 14 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 2 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 60 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
