Rattler Rising: FAMU installs 42 ft bronze Rattler as centerpiece of new CASS building


Work crews this week installed a more than 1,500-pound, 42-foot bronze rattler in front of new FAMU Center for Access and Student Success (CASS) Building on Wahnish Way. The seven-times life size sculpture cost about $112,000.

The rattler was designed and created by Brad Cooley of Bronze by Cooley of Lamont, in Jefferson County, Fla., the rattler was hoisted into place by a crane then secured to a concrete base. 

The rattler has been covered and will be unveiled during the building's ribbon cutting which is expected to take place in the early part of 2021.
