Thapa lauds NBU's Part-III exam move


SNS, DARJEELING,  6 SEPTEMBER 2020: Chairman of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA), Anit Thapa, today welcomed a move of the North Bengal University (NBU) to allow Under-Graduate Part-III-2020 candidates to appear their examination from home.

In a Facebook post, Mr Thapa thanked the NBU Vice-Chancellor and said: "They have accepted our request for the same and decided wisely, keeping in mind the health and future of our students in the midst of the Covid- 19 crisis," Mr Thapa said.

"The students, however, need to follow the protocol set by the University while ‘writing the papers," he added.

According to him, student s should write their UG Part-III examinations in blank answer scripts provided for all papers, while such answer sheets will have to be submitted by the guardian or any other authorised person in the College within 24 hours of the completion of each paper.

"They should maintain the Covid-19 protocols on the production of photocopy of admit card, original registration card and photo identity of the candidate (ie, within 5:00pm on the day of examination). After submission of the candidate's written scripts by any authorised person, they will he provided with a receipt copy or acknowledgement by the College," he said.

Mr Thapa added that if a candidate is unable to submit the hard copy of the written scripts in the College concerned within 24 hours, he/she may upload the same in the PDF format in the College website within 24 hours after completion of writing the paper (i.e. within 5:00 p.m. on the day of examinations).

"Submission of the hard copies of the witten scripts of such candidates has to be done by the authorised person the next day after completion of the entire examinations," he said.
