The government, locals and companies are moving very fast in the direction of economic sanctions against China after the Galvan Valley incident. The government has canceled the contracts of Chinese companies related to the Delhi-Mumbai expressway, for security reasons.
Sources close to the transport ministry said that the ministry would not give a chance to a subsidiary of a Chinese company (Jiangxi Construction Engineering Corporation) for two projects worth Rs 800-800 crore. Both Chinese companies have been denied letters of award.
A few days ago, Roads and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari made it clear that Chinese companies would not get direct or indirect entry in any highway project.
At present, if a Chinese company has a hand in a project, it will be canceled and the tender will be issued for the second time.
